How to Share Your Lost Luggage Location with Airlines Using Find Hub on Android

One of the most annoying things at the airport is waiting by the baggage carousel while your suitcase never shows up. After a long wait, you have to go to the lost baggage desk, fill out forms, and get a vague “we’ll contact you” reply. It’s a common travel headache.Google is trying to improve this experience. With a new “location sharing” feature in the Find Hub app on Android, the process of reporting and tracking lost luggage is becoming easier.

A smarter way to track lost luggage

This feature came with the March 2026 Pixel Drop update. It lets you share the real-time location of a tracking tag inside your suitcase directly with airlines that support this service.

If your bag goes missing, airline staff can open your shared link and see exactly where it is—no more guessing or back-and-forth calls.More than 10 airlines worldwide support this right now.

Start with the right tracking tag Using Find Hub

To use this, you need a Bluetooth tracking tag that works with the Find Hub network. Devices like Moto Tag, Chipolo, and similar ones are compatible.

Some suitcase brands, like Samsonite and July, are even integrating Find Hub tech into their luggage, so you might not need a separate tracker.

Your phone needs to be running Android 6 or newer to use the app, but Android 9 or above is recommended for the best experience.

Step-by-step: Share your luggage location

If your suitcase doesn’t arrive, here’s what to do:

  1. Open the Find Hub app
Go to the main screen and select the tracking tag inside your luggage.
  2. Tap “Share item location”
The app will create a unique, secure link. Follow the instructions and copy the link.
  3. Send the link to the airline
Paste it into the airline’s app, website, or give it to staff at the lost baggage desk. They can open it on any device and see your bag’s location in real time.

What about privacy?

Sharing your location might feel a bit uncomfortable, but the system has strong privacy measures.

  • Only people with the link can see your bag
  • There’s no automatic sharing running in the background
  • Links expire after 7 days
  • Sharing stops automatically when your phone detects the bag is back with you
  • You can turn off sharing anytime

In short, you keep full control over your information.

Supported airlines (so far)

Right now, airlines supporting this feature include:

– Air India
– China Airlines
– Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines)
– Saudia
– Scandinavian Airlines
– Turkish Airlines

Qantas is expected to add it soon.

Behind the scenes, Google works with SITA and Reunitus to connect this system with big baggage tracking networks like WorldTracer and NetTracer. That means it already works with many airlines and airports worldwide.
