NVIDIA Unveils the Refreshed GeForce RTX 4070! Here’s the Price
NVIDIA has quietly introduced a new version of the GeForce RTX 4070. With the GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 model, NVIDIA offers a new memory alternative for the popular graphics card. The RTX 4070 was originally launched in October with 12GB of GDDR6X memory.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 Specifications
To improve supply and stock availability, NVIDIA has released the GeForce RTX 4070 with GDDR6 memory. According to the company, the only difference between the new version and the standard graphics card is the type of memory used.
Both graphics cards feature the same 5888 CUDA cores based on the AD104 GPU, a 192-bit memory interface, and 12GB of VRAM. However, the GDDR6 memory operates at a slower speed (20Gbps) compared to the 21Gbps found in the GDDR6X. The impact of this on performance remains uncertain for now.
The switch to GDDR6 results in a drop in memory bandwidth from 504GB/s to 480GB/s. Despite this reduction, NVIDIA emphasizes that performance in games and applications will remain “the same.” The RTX 4070 GDDR6 will have a 200W TDP and the same power connection option as its predecessor.
In terms of pricing, the RTX 4070 GDDR6 follows the steps set by the RTX 4070 SUPER after its release. The RTX 4070 GDDR6 will be priced at $549. How it will be priced in other regions, including our country, is yet to be determined.
The RTX 4070 GDDR6 will support Game Ready drivers and is expected to be available globally starting in September, in partnership with manufacturers like Palit and Gainward.
