Even though years have passed since the introduction of Windows 11 into our lives, users’ love for Windows 7 still persists. In this article, we will share a simple method for those who want to give their Windows 11 operating system the appearance of Windows 7. Here’s what you need to do to apply a Windows 7 theme to Windows 11.
The first step of this process, which takes place in several stages, is to move the taskbar, which is typically centered in Windows 11, to the left. To do this, first open the Settings application. Then go to the Personalization tab and click on the Taskbar tab. First, disable Widgets and Task view switch buttons. Then go to Taskbar Behaviors and choose left alignment from the Taskbar Alignment section. That was the simple first step. Now your taskbar will be on the left, just like in Windows 7.
Now we come to where we will make the main change. Here, we will need third-party applications. For this, there are three alternatives: Start11, GitHub, and WindowsBlinds 11. While Start 11 offers 30 days of free use, WindowsBlinds 11 completely changes the theme for $27. GitHub, on the other hand, is completely free. Since it best reflects the Windows 7 theme in this article, we will base our method on WindowsBlinds 11. However, if you want to do it for free, you can follow the steps at the end of our article.
First, download WindowsBlinds from the official website. Then run the installation file and confirm the installation location. After WindowsBlinds 11 is installed, run the program and open the “Download More Styles” tab. Here, find and click to download Aero 11. Once the process is complete, go back to the Styles tab and click the Apply Style to Desktop button. Now your Windows 11 will closely resemble it. Of course, don’t forget to add it’s popular wallpaper.
Although the theme may not be exactly the same with GitHub, you can perform this process for free. Go to GitHub and download OpenShell. Then, when you open the Start menu for the first time, OpenShell will open. In the window that opens, select Windows 7.
Next, go to the Appearance tab and select Windows Aero from the dropdown menu. Finally, check the Reduce Glass Transparency option at the bottom of the menu and click OK. And thus, you can transform your Windows 11 into the appearance of Windows 7 for free.
